Preview: Dan Bryk, with Bodega and Lee Feldman
Lee's Palace 10/4/00

It's a big week for Bryk, who describes himself as a "totally weird guy."

He's on the cover of this week's Now, and his new CD, "Lover's Leap," hits stores on Tuesday. It's tough to describe Bryk's music. Alternative? Rock? Yes, and more.

Bryk is one of the few artists who is happy doing what he likes, rather than worrying about what other people think. Actually, that's the definition of artist, isn't it? On "Lover's Leap," Bryk teams up with some other Canadian talent, including Moxy Fruvous, Kurt Swinghammer and Howie Beck.

As Bryk's career in Canada grows, can US attention be far behind? "Lover's Leap" is his first album to be released there, so we'll have to wait and see.Still the temptation to say, "I saw him when ...," in five years time is too much to pass up.
