Dan Bryk

This cool cat launched his long-delayed second CD, Lovers Leap, with a gig at Lee’s Palace. He has a new young band that, while occasionally a little loose, added a spirited energy to his melodic brand of pop-rock. Some songs featured Bryk accompanied only by the keyboards he uses sparsely but effectively. As usual, his sometimes dark, self-deprecating sense of humour and sardonic observations caught the brain, while his tunes caught the ear. A real talent, and let’s hope his new disc gets the exposure it deserves.
