The Great White North has produced more than its fair share of brooders, but there are also plenty of goofballs to go around. Dan Bryk's power pop goes down real easy, and as usual for the genre it's worth a close listen to catch the clever lyrics. Granted, the recent Lovers Leap is not that clever, contrary to all the Randy Newman comparisons, but there's still plenty to enjoy in his tales of failed relationships.

Also on hand is the delightful Buddy Revelles, indie-pop laced with a touch of power-trio edge.
